Hey WWE universe
Welcome to another edition of WWE Raw. We are on road to Money in the Bank and Rhea Ripley is out of action with an injury. Let’s have a look at how WWE managed that new development and find out What worked; What not
1. Asuka vs. Morgan vs. Lynch vs. Bliss vs. Carmella
Carmella wins the fatal 5 way after pinning Liv Morgan.
What Worked
- The match served to further the Becky Lynch storyline. Her frustration at how things work at WWE is hilarious to watch.
What not
- The match was a mess. Constant shrieking made this match unwatchable unless on mute.
- The micro promo entrance of all competitors is always dull and none of the wrestlers could create any magic on mic.
- The match lacked energy and intensity.
2. Riddle vs Omos
Omos pinned Riddle after hitting a choke powerbomb.
What Worked
- Riddle has a very unconventional way of delivering a promo, but yet his promo display a lot of emotions.
- Omos winning was the right call with Riddle kayfabd injured.
- Start of a Rollins vs Riddle feud.
What not
- Omos seems like another of the talent less giant monster fetish of VKM. He is still too green in the ring.
3. Jey Uso vs Angelo Dawkins
Angelo Dawkins pinned Jey Uso in a quick paced match
What worked
- Street Profits and Usos is a combination that always puts on fun match.
- Angelo Dawkins is often overlooked due to the charisma of Montez Ford but he is a star of his own.
What not
- The ending of the match looked a little rushed.
- Dawkins did not get the desired elevation while hitting his finisher for pin.
4. Bobby Lashley vs Otis, Gable and Theory (Gauntlet match)
Gable tapped out to Hurt lock. Otis got disqualified and Theory turned out to be the last opponent in gauntlet. Lashley pinned Theory via inside cradle.
What worked
- Even though this was a gauntlet match Alpha Academy were made to look strong.
- Otis’ one liners while fighting added to the fun and drama.
What not
- Theory getting pinned easily. He is your champion. If he gets defeated by a wrestler who just got whacked by 2 of the best, it devalues your champ.
5. Miz Tv and Ciampa vs. AJ Styles
Dream match on free TV? Styles won this dream match after another typical Miz TV segment.
What Worked
- Ciampa vs Styles can never not work. It was a quick paced match that left us wanting for more.
What not
- Miz TV segments have become predictable.
- Miz on commentary can make ears bleed.
- Ciampa deserves better storyline
6. Becky Lynch vs Asuka
A dominant pinfall victory for Asuka in a match she mostly dominated.
What worked
- Asuka dominating most of the match was a welcome change. Hopefully WWE creative will book the empress of tomorrow worthy of her aura.
- Lynch’s post match tantrums piqued interest in what’s next for The Man.
What not
- The match never felt high stakes even though it was for a spot in MITB.
Promos
- Bianca Belair – Lethargic and did not build up the fatal 5 way match well enough.
- Vince McMahon – Nothing special to write about.
- Theory – A typical heel promo saved by Lashley photobombing.
- Elias, KO and Ezekiel – The most fun segment on Show. This story has been silly yet entertaining.
- Veer Mahan – Creatively the Jinderification of Veer has begun. Which is sad given that he has been built up well so far.
A tepid show with roster appearing to be too overstretched. WWE really needs to build up stars in it’s male division because it is getting too repetitive on the card.
