Hello AEW Galaxy
AEW Double or Nothing is looking phenomenal on paper. As of now the event has 12 matches and one more match on Buy In. With just AEW rampage show left to go, the card is not expected to change much. So let’s take a look at the matches and make some predictions.
(AEW Buy In) Hookhausen (Hook & Danhausen) vs. Tony Nese & “Smart” Mark Sterling
Just the perfect match to set up the show’s tone. The outcome is no brainer. HookHausen is going to win this one. Expect some comedic gold with Danhausen playing the face in peril. Hot Tag to Hook will seal the deal. Sterling is expected to take the pin.
Jade Cargill (c) (with Kiera Hogan & Red Velvet) vs. Anna Jay (for AEW TBS championship)
This will be a short match. Jade Cargill is being booked like WCW version of Goldberg. No way is she losing to Anna Jay. The streak will end but this is just not the day.
The House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King) vs. Death Triangle (Pac, Penta Oscuro & Rey Fénix) (with Alex Abrahantes)
This one is tough to predict. Ideally the heel faction should take this one. AEW really don’t have a seriously villainous stable. House of black will lose a lot of sheen if they come up short in this war.
The issue stays the same with Death Triangle. With Fenix’s return, they have the momentum on their side. A loss will hurt them too, though not as much as it will hurt House of Black.
An interference from Varsity Blonds cannot be ruled out.
The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) (with Brandon Cutler)
AEW has already made this mistake once when Jeff Hardy went over Darby Allin. This time it should be Bucks going over Hardy boys in this dream match up. Although with Hardy’s promo on this week’s Dynamite, we might be looking at the last run of Hardy boys with AEW Tag Team Title as the ultimate goal, so expect Bucks to take the pin.
The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia & Jake Hager) vs. Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz & The Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley) (with William Regal)
We literally have no idea what this match is all about. Expect this to be a bloodbath for sure. With the combustible names involved there is no idea where this will go. There are too many factors in play here so making any prediction is impossible but the whole JAS act is too repetitive. BCC is a far hotter act and must go over.
MJF vs. Wardlow
Wardlow wins. No second guesses here.
Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Ruby Soho
The way Kris Statlander has been repackaged, she should have been the one to face the DMD in the finals. It is high time that AEW pushes other talents not named Britt Baker. They have already derailed the momentum of Toni Storm by letting DMD steal a win.
Unfortunately mistakes of the past have been repeated and we will be getting Ruby vs Britt Baker. With the way things have been, DMD will prevail.
Samoa Joe vs. Adam Cole
This one is going to Bay Bay. Adam Cole will win and Joe will will fall victim to outside interference by Jay Lethal and co. There is no other way this will end unless AEW wants to turn Cole into their version of Bray Wyatt (He who can never win the big one).
Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) (c) (with Christian Cage) vs. Team Taz (Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs) (with Taz) vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland
Christian heel turn incoming. We will have new champions for sure. Given the long term storytelling aspect of AEW, Team Taz will win this one and continue their feud with Team “Swerve in our Glory”.
Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Serena Deeb
La Mera Mera is staying the champion. Serena Deeb is just going to elevate her as a champion but Rosa is going to keep the title.
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Darby Allin
O’Reilly will win and Bobby Fish will be the catalyst. No way Darby is overcoming those odds.
Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian and Tay Conti vs. Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Paige VanZant
The match that is least interesting story wise. TNT championship picture has become a mess due to too many cooks involved. The broth is spoiled and Sammy needs to go away from the picture. Paige VanZant will win this one for her team by pinning Tay Conti.
“Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. CM Punk
This is going to be tough to predict. In strictly business terms, CM Punk must win and turn heel in the process. Punk as a heel champion is pure gold. (Read why)
But with Tony Khan’s recent statements praising Hangman as a champion, it seems that the company is not ready to drop the ball on him.
This match is going to be epic. Expect this rivalry to be prolonged with some shenanigans and a shady finish. Hangman will retain but Punk will turn heel.
These are my predictions for the show. What are your thoughts. Do let me know in comments section.
